Nancy Wilson was born 20th February 1937 in Chillicothe to Olden Wilson, an ironworker, as well as Lillian Ryan (a former housemaid). Nancy was the sixth of seven kids. Adderley's representative saw her singing and instantly signed her. He obtained a contract for the label Capitol records in 1960, and she made her debut that year by releasing the single.
