Nancy Wilson (jazz singer) was born to Olden Wilson who was an ironworker in Chillicothe on the 20th of February, 1937. Her mother, Lillian Ryan worked as a household servant. Nancy began recording for Dot Records in 1956, when she was part of the band. Cannonball Aderley suggested she relocate to New York so as to improve her career. In 1959, Nancy moved to The Big Town. Within a short time she began singing at The Blue Morocco Night Club which is located at Boston Road near The Bronx. Adderley's representative was able to hear her perform and promptly signed her.
